Weinberg office building inauguration on the company’s 30th birthday

Weinberg ’93 Építő Kft celebrated its 30th birthday in Sárospatak with the inauguration of its new office building. The BIM-based design and project management of the building is associated with BuildEXT, and the large-scale event on 25 April was attended by János Lázár, Minister of Construction.

Construction pearl in Zemplén

The Hungarian company, based in Sárospatak, is a general contractor and steel structure manufacturer, and is now recognised as a contractor for highly complex projects. Last year, Weinberg‘s turnover was HUF 25 billion, while this year it is expected to reach HUF 30 billion.

The company’s projects include the manufacture and installation of structural steelwork of the Hungarian House of Music, the Haladás Stadium, the multicar hall in Tatabánya, TV2 headquarters in Bergen, as well as the main entrance gate of the NASA Museum in Washington DC. The company has received several awards for its work, such as the Construction Master Award and the Construction Award of Excellence for the steel structure of the AEROPLEX aircraft hangar.

The head of the company, István Derczó, is featured on the cover of the April issue of Hungarian Builders magazine, his interview can be read here, and Magyar Építők reported in detail about the inauguration of the office building and the accompanying ceremony in this article.

Hungarian BIM project, international recognition

We were asked to design and accompany the expansion of the company’s office in Sárospatak with BIM-based project management. In addition to the existing building with its unique façade, we designed a more restrained block connected by a neck link, in line with the client’s requirements, with flexible, modern, post-Covid solutions to ensure optimal utilisation and employee satisfaction in the long term.

From the very beginning, the ISO 19650 project was carried out using BIM methodology, supporting not only the design but also the construction with state-of-the-art digital tools.

The result: a flexible and modern open office with highly automated engineering, delivered on budget and on time, as part of an internationally acclaimed project, and an information-rich digital model ready to operate, develop and transform.

The full project is summarised in this video:
