OUR APPROACH
At the drawing board and on site
A large share of the operating costs of sports facilities comes from heating, cooling, dehumidification and water technology – and a poor design decision can multiply these costs for decades. BuildEXT engineers optimise these systems already at concept stage using certified 6D BIM energy simulations.
Multifunctional use – sport, concerts, exhibitions and community events – brings different requirements for acoustics, ventilation and spectator layouts. During design, we plan for all future modes of use and select systems that can serve each scenario without compromise.

From decision preparation to handover
In a sports facility, the functional programme, sports technology, spectator circulation, operation and engineering systems all shape the project. We start the design from usage scenarios, capacities and operational requirements, while keeping project data in a common data environment so that every design and construction phase works from the same current and verified information.

Teaching Pool, Sárospatak
We designed the teaching pool in a World Heritage setting for a tight budget and intensive school use. The 25-metre, six-lane teaching pool and the smaller training pool were complemented by a changing-room layout designed to handle the changeover of two school classes within a 15-minute break. BuildEXT was responsible for general design, architectural design, BIM and project management.

Sports Centre, Körösladány
For the multifunctional sports centre, we designed the interiors for intensive daily use, sports functions and efficient operation. The swimming pool, sports hall, fitness and wellness areas were developed within a consistent visual system, using durable materials and clear wayfinding.

Gerevich Aladar National Sports Hall
We based the refurbishment of the historic sports hall on a BIM model created from a full laser scan. The western wing was redesigned while keeping the hall in continuous use. The project included architectural and interior design, Scan to BIM surveying and the coordinated review of several engineering disciplines.
