Managers for Society – Focus on the Future! Buildext in the panel discussion

On February 18, 2021, the National Association of Managers is organizing an all-day digital conference with 16 exciting panel discussions and more than 60 outstanding speakers in their respective sectors. At the Managers for Society – Focus on the Future! event Csaba Livják, the founding managing director of BuildEXT, will also share his thoughts on the role of digitalization in the construction industry for sustainability.

At the conference, the speakers will provide useful information on what changes can bring the given sector forward, how to create a sustainable economy, what the given sectors need to rethink for the ecologically sustainable economy, or what are the previously planned innovations that are in need of an immediate introduction.

BuildEXT represents an industry where it does not score red points in the sustainability league table as an organization, but with the buildings, it designs as an engineering firm.

Our staff has been working with BIM methodology for four years, and our “BIM” buildings designed since then are more sustainable in cost and carbon footprint than those designed in a classical way.

BIM, or building information modeling, is the cure for the ills of the construction industry, but today its practical use in Hungary is still largely characterized by misunderstandings and a lack of knowledge. What changes in attitude, regulation, education, development, and digitalization are needed to move the construction industry towards sustainability? The brevity of the panel discussion and the Q&A session that will follow is expected to leave a lot of interesting questions unanswered, but it will be interesting to learn and exchange views from different sectors in the time available.

You can watch the 30-minute Q&A sessions after the 30-minute panel discussions (in Hungarian) on the association’s Facebook and Linkedin pages. Registration on the organization’s website.

CIRCLE OR STRAIGHT? – Circular or linear economy?

Panel discussion: 15:00 – 15:30 // Q&A discussion: 15:30 – 16:00

Participants:

  • Dr. Ágnes Fábián, Managing Director of Henkel Magyarország Kft
  • Ágnes Kovács, managing director of SIÓ-Eckes Kft
  • Csaba Livják, founder and managing director of BuildExt Kft
  • Moderator: Márta Irén, Director of the Hungarian Business Council for Sustainable Development

The transition to a circular economy is a great business opportunity today. The essence of the concept is not yet fully understood by most economic actors, although this model can increase the resilience of the world economy and make it easier to achieve the Paris Agreement on Climate Change and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. For the model change to take off and gain ground, collaboration and knowledge sharing with the corporate, governmental, and academia sectors are needed. You can find out how the circular economy can be implemented according to the leaders of the multinational and medium-sized companies present in Hungary and what they do in practice, from our panel discussion.

The participation fee of the conference is the cost of planting a tree (HUF 3.000,) with which the participants also contribute to the planting of 1,000 trees in the Mocsárosdűlő climate protection forest in the 3rd district.
