More Than Bricks and Mortar – Csaba Livják at the Real Estate BEACH Conference

On 3 September, Csaba Livják, Founder and CEO of BuildEXT, will join the professional programme of the Real Estate BEACH Conference. The panel discussion “Construction: More Than Bricks and Mortar” will explore how the construction industry is changing as digitalisation and automation advance while economic conditions become increasingly demanding.

Many of the challenges facing the construction industry are familiar: cost pressure, labour shortages, tight schedules and increasingly complex projects. At the same time, the sector’s technological toolkit continues to expand rapidly. BIM models, common data environments, automated checks, digital site workflows and growing volumes of project data are now widely available.

A new software platform, model or database creates value when decisions can be made from more accurate information, coordination issues are identified earlier, responsibilities become clearer, and fewer problems reach the construction phase.

This is particularly important in a market environment where there is increasingly little room to absorb additional costs caused by poorly coordinated processes, late decisions or information loss. During the discussion on 3 September, Csaba Livják will explore this perspective together with László Koji, President of ÉVOSZ (National Federation of Hungarian Building Contractors). The conversation will address productivity in the Hungarian construction industry, the practical state of digitalisation, the role of emerging technologies, and how investors and contractors need to adapt to the market conditions of the coming years.

And where does the line lie today between technological potential and solutions that actually work in practice? The next major step forward for the construction industry is unlikely to come from another tool alone. It will depend much more on how consistently we integrate the technologies already available into the processes of design, construction and, later, building operation.
