It was the deadline for my first degree when, in full flow, I noticed that something had changed.

Then I realized it was dawn
and the sun was up.
Since then it has been repeated many times and I still love it.
The feeling of getting lost in the shaping of space, the meticulous design of a building, and that it’s only in the morning when you realize that you’ve worked all night.
There is something infinitely reassuring about the “arrival” mood of these mornings. It is a bit like a deep meditation, where you have not been distracted for hours, and at the end, you see all the context crystal clear.
You are satisfied because you see the results of your work. Something similar might be felt by a surgeon when a patient wakes up after 10 hours of surgery, or by a marathon runner when he crosses the finish line.
The time fells apart.
Of course, we don’t expect this from our employees, but I think it’s one of the things that makes engineers make incredible efforts.
Perhaps this is the drive of our profession, which makes being an architect worthwhile.
