Dalux Summit 2024 – ConvergenCE and BuildEXT case study on stage

Óriási volt az érdeklődés a Dalux gyakorlati felhasználása iránt

Dalux Summit 2024 is the annual summit event of Dalux, perhaps the largest web project platform for the European construction industry, where engineers from 45 countries around the world gather to inspire, grow and connect. For the fourth time, BuildEXT has been asked by the organisers to represent Hungary and share its knowledge with a practical and meaningful presentation.

The meeting for Dalux users will bring together participants from all areas of the construction and facilities management industry, small, medium and large organisations, bringing together a diverse global community in Copenhagen during the November summit.

The three-day event, which is free of charge, is attended by developers, property owners, general contractors, specialist contractors, planning consultants and representatives from various educational institutions – the organisers have reported more than 1,600 participants, who in 2024 will be able to follow the presentations in several sessions.

This year, our company was asked to present a unique and remarkable project together with a partner. In many ways, Academia proved to be an excellent choice: while a major part of the project has been completed with the redevelopment of the common areas of the multi-award winning building, we continue to work actively with the developer ConvergenCE on the leases.

ConvergenCE is an asset manager, property developer and joint venture partner with a unique approach operating in the Central and Eastern European region. Their mission is to be the best value-added commercial real estate investment and asset management advisor in Hungary.

They seek out well-located but neglected properties for which they develop and implement effective repositioning concepts. They breathe new life into these properties, taking into account the latest tenant trends, ensuring their long-term sustainability and value growth.

The case study

The presentation is based on the collaboration between the two organisations: the Academia as-built model is constantly updated by BuildEXT and actively used by ConvergenCE with the arrival of tenants.

For rentals, our interior designers will develop a concept and visual design according to the client’s brief, presented through VR glasses and refined using AR technology according to the client’s needs.

The completed state is fed back into the model and shared with the project stakeholders, who then have real information about the transformation work that has taken place in the building and its results.

Yesterday, Csaba Livják (Founder, CEO, BuildEXT) and Gábor Zeley (Senior Project Manager, ConvergenCE) presented the presented the practice of this business model to the international audience through the Hungarian startup Colossyan’s rental property transformation project in the title “Dalux as the key to ongoing efficiency in ACADEMIA Offices“.

Colossyan is a Hungarian startup that has developed an artificial intelligence-based video creation platform, allowing users to generate videos from text quickly and easily. In February 2024, the company received a $22 million investment led by Lakestar, which will be used for technology development and international expansion.

Among Colossyan’s customers are well-known companies such as Procter & Gamble, BMW and Vodafone, who use the platform for internal training and communication purposes.

During the project, we actively used the Danish company’s CDE platform. By using closed BIM and Dalux as the common data environment, a lot of problems can be avoided or solved easily, as the “Single source of truth” allows us to get all relevant data from a single, reliable and easily accessible source, avoiding fragmentation and inconsistency of data.

This means fewer misunderstandings, fewer mistakes and waste, no delays, no extra work and no extra costs, so the project is delivered on time, on budget, with better quality and greater customer satisfaction.

For the investor ConvergenCE, the benefits don’t stop there: fast, error-free 3D design can be overlaid with spectacular visualization solutions, resulting in, among other things, higher occupancy rates, solvent tenants who explicitly appreciate the added value of the technology and, ultimately, a more successful investment and better return on investment.
