PropTech Conference 2025 – smart city, smart building, digitalization
- March 7, 2025

Investing in a more sustainable and greener urban future
On 22 May 2025, the PropTech Conference, one of the most important innovation and technology events in the Hungarian real estate market, will take place for the sixth time. The organizers are welcoming experts and innovators interested in the real estate market, construction, BIM, contech and proptech with a full-day professional program.
Last year, the focus was on construction, BIM and contech, and this year the smart city concept will be added to the focus area. Not only the whole life cycle of real estate will be addressed, but also the use and control of data. Digitalization is no longer just about running buildings efficiently, it can also revolutionize urban resource management. The question is no longer whether digitalization is necessary, but how it can be used as a strategic tool for the sustainable development of the built environment.
The 300-person event will be a unique meeting point for the most prominent representatives of the profession. Participants will have the opportunity to inspire, learn and share knowledge, as well as to jointly shape the technological future of the real estate market.
In addition to the professional content, the organisers will launch an innovation competition in 6 categories, looking for the Innovator of the Year, the Proptech startup or scaleup, the latest BIM and real estate lifecycle innovations and the best digital customer experience.
Digitalization is no longer just a competitive advantage, but a business survival issue
The event will showcase the latest proptech and contech solutions and help to develop a strategic vision that will underpin the development of future cities.
Focus on practice
The conference takes a highly practical approach, showcasing the latest developments, good practices and lessons learned through case studies, presentations, workshops and exhibitions. The role of efficiency, time management and measurability has never been more important to the industry.
Digitalization is taking off in many companies, while ESG requirements are putting increasing pressure on real estate operators to collect and analyze more data on their properties and operations. BIM plays a key role in this, providing accurate data on the entire lifecycle of buildings, helping to meet energy efficiency, sustainability and regulatory requirements.
Key topics include:
- Data-driven urban development: how big data and AI can help energy efficiency, transport and resource allocation
- Proptech solutions in real estate: smart buildings, sensor-based property management and the role of digital twins in planning and operation.
- Construction innovations: BIM, robotization and modular construction technologies to accelerate the development of urban infrastructure.
- Energy efficiency with digital tools: IoT, smart grids and artificial intelligence to optimize energy use.
- Urban mapping and digital modelling: dynamic mapping of land use and energy demand data for better urban planning.
Effective steps towards a sustainable future
The main aim of the event is to present concrete, immediately applicable solutions to participants, rather than visions of the distant future. In doing so, it not only promotes digital transformation but also contributes to building business relationships, forging partnerships and forming new professional communities.
This year’s conference will focus on the smart city concept, which goes beyond the digitization of individual buildings and developments. The real opportunity lies in linking data, systems, including BIM-based design, construction and operations – be it development lifecycles, local integration or support for sustainable urban development.
The organisers’ mission remains to accelerate real estate education and digital transformation through successful case studies and best practices.
Keynote speakers at the PropTech Hungary 2025 conference
This year’s event will also feature presentations from national and international experts who have not previously appeared on the conference stage, but of course there will also be returning audience favourites.
- Zoltán Pogátsa, founder of the Pogi podcast, is a sociologist, economist and associate professor. As an expert in international political economy, he has written numerous analyses, books and podcasts on the effects of digitalisation, its global context and Hungarian implications.
- Luke Graham, founder of Urban Neuron, who will give a presentation on the development of digital cities (Technopolis).
- Andrew Gamblen, leader of Dalux AEC, who was voted best performer of last year by the audience.
BuildEXT will be co-organising and presenting at the conference again this year, helping to shape the professional programme and showcase innovative solutions. As with last year’s PropTech Innovation NOW 2024 event, we are committed to supporting the digitisation of the real estate market and the rise of BIM-based developments, facilitating professional dialogue and promoting the latest technologies.
