Building the present – Proptech Hungary 2025 report
- May 23, 2025
On 22 May, the Budapest Music Center hosted the sixth Proptech Hungary Conference, where digitalisation and artificial intelligence were no longer the promises of the future, but the reality of the present. With more than sixty speakers, the event focused on proptech, contech and smart city.
BuildEXT co-organized the event again this year, where Csaba Livják, founder and CEO, spoke about the challenges of BIM-based project management in Hungary. He pointed out that innovation is often hampered not by technology but by the lack of cooperation between actors. In his view, a role of BIM integrator will inevitably emerge in the future, able to bring together actors with different interests – from professionals living in the past to clients envisioning the future.

Dániel Joó, BuildEXT’s senior BIM expert, shared his practical experience of data-driven operations in a panel discussion, and presented the certificates of the 2025 BIM Diploma Competition, where the three winners were able to present their work:
- 🥇 Balázs Takács: Methodological possibilities of road design implementation in BIM environment
- 🥈 Béla Nagy: Digital Twin in building management
- 🥉 Angelika Szűcs: Comparison of model-based operational support options

The key theme of this year’s conference was applied digitalisation. Visitors saw how artificial intelligence and BIM are integrated into everyday practice through real-life examples, even through a smart glass. One of the lessons learned from the conference was that the technology is already there—the next step is to change mindsets.
A detailed report of the event can be found here. In the coming weeks, the organisers will process all the presentations and make them available in further articles on the Proptech Hungary website.
