ACADEMIA has won one of the most prestigious real estate competitions in Hungary, with the ConvergenCE team receiving the honour at the Office of the Year Awards Gala. In addition to the renovation and rethinking of this prestigious building, the jury also highlighted its commitment to environmental awareness and support for contemporary artists.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Justification of the jury<\/h2>\n\n

“In an industry where the mushrooming of office buildings is a testament to progress, buildings that once had prestige value can fade into obscurity. However, new market trends not only provide an opportunity, but also make it necessary to rethink these iconic buildings.<\/p>\n\n

However, despite the principles of sustainability and apparent economy, such renovations can be full of surprises, because we don’t know exactly what we will find under the surface.<\/p>\n\n

The renovation and redevelopment of the ACADEMIA Office Building not only sought to achieve high WELL and BREEAM certification, which demonstrates the developers’ commitment to environmental sustainability, but also to support contemporary artists.”<\/p>\n\n

We would also like to congratulate the winners and thank all our colleagues and partners for their work and the trust that ConvergenCE has placed in us, which has resulted in the ACADEMIA’s<\/a> renewed spaces being awarded this prize.<\/p>\n\n

BuildEXT was commissioned by the investor to design the interior of the ACADEMIA office building, prepare the concept, the urban planning application and the design with the consent of the original designer of the building, Gy\u00f6rgy Guczogi.<\/p>\n\n

Due to a change in tenants, the owner had the opportunity to rethink the spaces, expand the range of available functions and modernize the interior design. We were also asked to design a new terrace on the roof, offering a unique panoramic view of the city centre.<\/p>\n\n
