ConvergenCE’s award-winning ACADEMIA office building has become Hungary’s first WiredScore-accredited building, with an immediate Gold rating. The certification process was managed by the accredited BuildEXT team (also responsible for redesign of the building), with the support of HAAN Studio.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Located in the capital’s business, government, tourism and cultural districts, the downtown office building was renovated and repositioned in 2022 in the spirit of ESG. Europa Capital and ConvergenCE set out to create an innovative, easy-to-operate concierge service and flexible office space that combines classic luxury with modern technology to provide a professional working environment and an outstanding customer experience.<\/p>\n\n

Renewal for digitalization and aesthetics.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

<\/div>\n\n

The renewal, therefore, focuses as much on digital connectivity and smart solutions as it does on accessibility and community features.<\/p>\n\n

The WiredScore<\/a> certification was achieved mainly thanks to the integration of VTS Rise technology<\/a>, which has paid special attention to the connectivity between employees, spaces, and technology.<\/p>\n\n

In addition to the cooperation with VTS, a number of comfort and efficiency-enhancing features will be incorporated: presence-sensing, low-energy lighting fixtures, ceiling cooling, and heating to ensure a constant temperature without noise and unpleasant air currents, and the use of limestone and other precious materials for sustainability, so that ACADEMIA will also meet the highest environmental standards and requirements.<\/p>\n\n

The interior design and technical solutions, and the renewal of common areas and office spaces are all being carried out with sustainability in mind, and in addition to obtaining environmental certifications, the building is also aiming for net zero emissions. <\/p>\n\n

It is also the first office building in the city center to apply for the highest level of WELL certification<\/a>, Platinum and is currently undergoing an Access4you<\/a> design audit for accessibility certification. Last year, ACADEMIA also won<\/a> the prestigious CRE Awards “Planned Project of the Year”, where it competed against Hungarian, Czech, Slovak, and Balkan entries.<\/p>\n\n

BuildEXT was responsible for the complete interior redesign<\/a>, the preparation of the urban planning application, and the construction plans. In addition, we played a unique role in the development of the utilization concept, including the functional design of the entire building, but also the design and approval of a unique roof terrace with a beautiful panoramic view.
