On February 18, 2021, the National Association of Managers is organizing an all-day digital conference with 16 exciting panel discussions and more than 60 outstanding speakers in their respective sectors. At the Managers for Society – Focus on the Future! event Csaba Livják, the founding managing director of BuildEXT, will also share his thoughts on the role of digitalisation in the construction industry for sustainability.

At the conference, the speakers will provide useful information on what changes can bring the given sector forward, how to create a sustainable economy, what the given sectors need to rethink for the ecologically sustainable economy, or what are the previously planned innovations that are in need of an immediate introduction.

BuildEXT represents an industry where you don’t get plus points for sustainability as an organization, but with the buildings you design as an engineering office. Our employees have been working with the BIM methodology for the fourth year, and our “BIM” buildings, which have been designed since then, can be said to be more sustainable in terms of cost and carbon footprint than those designed in the classical way.

BIM, i.e. building information modeling, is the solution for many problems in the construction industry, but today it is still largely characterized by misunderstandings and incomplete knowledge that slow down its practical use in Hungary. What change of attitude, regulation, education, development, digitization is needed to move the construction industry towards sustainability? The brevity of the panel discussion and the subsequent Q&A discussion is expected to leave a lot of interesting questions unanswered, but it will definitely be interesting to get to know and collide the perspectives of different sectors during this time as well.

The 30-minute Q&A sessions following the 30-minute panel discussions (in Hungarian) can be followed by those interested on the association’s Facebook and Linkedin pages, and the event can be registered on the organization’s website.

The transition to a circular economy is a great business opportunity today. The essence of the concept is not yet fully understood by most economic actors, although this model can increase the resilience of the world economy and make it easier to achieve the Paris Agreement on Climate Change and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. For the model change to take off and gain ground, collaboration and knowledge sharing with the corporate, governmental and academia sectors is needed. You can find out how the circular economy can be implemented according to the leaders of the multinational and medium-sized companies present in Hungary and what they do in practice, from our panel discussion.

The participation fee of the conference is the cost of planting a tree, i.e. HUF 3.000, with which the participants also contribute to the planting of 1,000 trees in the Mocsárosdűlő climate protection forest in the 3rd district.
